Amaro Gomes

Amaro Gomes was always looking to help others. A Goan at heart, he played a big role in securing jobs for several Goans in the Middle East. He believed in education and invested significantly in his own children’s education as well as helping out the children of several people close to his family. A man of action, Babush went from working from a small office in Mumbai to the UAE where he rose to become the Regional Director for the Valspar company. Most important to him was family – his wife, children, parents, siblings and even his dog – Duke!

Ashley Gomes

Ashley Gomes was the ambitious one. At an early age he set his sights on studying in the USA and getting a job on Wall Street which he achieved, first in investment banking and then in private equity. Ashley had a cunning sense of humour and always enjoyed a good laugh. He used to spend a lot of time trying to convince his parents to keep up to date with the latest technology and had an affinity for all things, Apple. His greatest lover, however, was a piping hot, well spiced chicken biryani with crispy onions and a boiled egg.

Juwel Gomes

Juwel Gomes brought the creativity and class. A graduate of the famed Loretto College, Calcutta, she was steeped in the creative arts of drama and theater. She started her career as an English teacher before going on to direct 5 musicals at St Marys Catholic High in Dubai. In 2001, she further her business ambitions by launching the first communication skills institute in Dubai – Confident Communication – which still runs today. Juwel enjoyed trying the latest restaurants in Dubai and has traveled extensively with her family across all the continents.

Avantika Gomes

Avantika Gomes is the genius of the family. A combination of beauty and brains, she graduated with a double degree in business and tech from University of Pennsylvania and has held multiple roles at a multitude of leading tech companies through her career. An animal lover through and through, she sits on the Board for the Animal Lighthouse Rescue in New York and expresses her creativity through a variety of pursuits such as cooking, prank playing, gift giving and singing.
